FWIW, you can get very very close by using "OpenWith" to open your CSS stylesheet into its own editor window alongside the editor's own xhtml and preview windows. Editing in either/both is possible with the css changes appearing in Preview when your css editor writes to disk.

I do this in Sigil all the time, but I am very sure Calibre can do the same thing.
