I am very happy to report that my "special offer" for Audible Plus subscription @ $1.95 per month has actually proved to be real! I checked my renewal payment today and it is indeed $2.09 (inc tax). WOW! Two bucks a month for unlimited listening is a steal. According to the email I received from Customer Service (see spoiler), this offer is targeted and may be $1.95 or $4.95/month and the offer will end in April or May. Once signed up, you stay on that special price forever.
So if you are not currently a member of Audible - on any of their plans - log out of your account and you may see this offer banner on the home page. Obviously this offer is not to everybody's taste as you get no credits and access to sales is hit or miss. I assume Audible's objective is to get you to upgrade to Premium Plus. But it suits me perfectly! I have a ton of books in my Library already and can now take my own sweet time to listen every now and then...
