Composite text columns have "show as HTML" which will make it non-clickable. But this option isn't available for regular columns. Is there a reason for that?

Is there anything to be done aside from having a duplicate composite for each column I want to display non-clickable?
First, using "Show as HTML" doesn't make the field not clickable. Instead it makes links inside the field, if any, clickable.

There is no way to turn off making an item searchable in book details.
