"Show as HTML" on non-composite columns

Usually, a custom non-composite column will appear clickable in the book details.

Composite text columns have "show as HTML" which will make it non-clickable. But this option isn't available for regular columns. Is there a reason for that?

Is there anything to be done aside from having a duplicate composite for each column I want to display non-clickable?
