So does the comparison not work for linking even if you follow all the steps correctly and ZKey is present via ZMI import in Calibre?
Adding to the previous poster's question, I had actually followed additional steps after his step 3. I had indeed imported the book metadata through csv/ZMI into calibre. *The comparison did not work.
My steps are as follows.
Steps:
- Use ZMI in calibre to export the RIS file
- I fetch the metadata in Zotero and use the link to options
- I export the metadata from Zotero to a csv file.
- In Calibre -I launch ZMI
- I import the csv file into Calibre via ZMI. *
- ZMI Import Books & Metadata -> Add Zotero Books and Metadata -> Manual Mode -> Select Single CSV Export file [Manual Mode]
- I select the CSV Row for Single Book for a book
- I notice that ZMI does updates custom columns in Calibre including the ZKey
- I exit ZMI
- I go to Calibre -> ZMI -> ZMI Comparison
- I get
Total Collection items in Zotero: 4
