I just bought 4 books by a favorite author, somewhat ironically, one I discovered when I first switched to Kobo. Most of her work is on Smashwords and Kobo too, but This series is only available at Amazon, although it's not KU (afaik). For all four books, this was how the purchase process went:

I had o go into Manage my Content and Devices , happily I was able to download them to my PC, but this was the first time I've experienced having my preferred selection overridden. It feels like a precursor, to me.
