Possible to wear through SD card contacts...?
I have a 128MB SD card (SanDisk, I know...but it was before I knew better) that has started acting very funny. I use it everyday in my AcomData Multi-Flash card reader/writer. I transfer converted iSilo documents every day and that means a lot of unplugging it from my PDA and plugging it into the reader/writer and back again.
By "acting funny", I mean that it will sometimes become unreadable/unwriteable and necessitate a re-formatting. Sometimes the Mac won't recognize it, but the PDA will, and sometimes they both will not "see" it.
My question is, is there some preset amount of gold on the contacts that wears off a smidgen with each plugging/unplugging and by me using the card everyday I am going through cards quicker than I could be?
I love the card reader/writer for its' quick info-putting-on ability, but I'm willing to get my iSilo docs onto the PDA via HotSync if it'll prolong my SD cards' life.
Or is this another example of "them dag-nabbit SanDisk" cards?
