I have a very poor attention span and am easily distracted. This means when I am on my kindle I quite frequently switch to the amazon store and start mindlessly browsing e-book samples.

I recently lost my kindle and was thinking of buying a new e-book reader. It occurred to me that it would be great if I found an e-book reader that doesn't have an online store, and one which I have to go onto my desktop, or transfer e-books via a cable, to add a book onto it.

Another important thing I would like is the ability to read an article online on my desktop and send it to my e-reader (I used to be able to do this via a kindle chrome addon and found it very useful)

Anyone have any suggestions for a device that would fufill the above criteria?
