Actually, the main problem is that each time the files are saved, the ligatures are removed.
ff
LATIN SMALL LIGATURE FF
Unicode: U+FB00, UTF-8: EF AC 80
…becomes two separate f, for example.

This forces me to convert my books from AZW3 to AZW3 to put the ligatures back.
And then, this unwanted auto-generated ToC is added.

Is there a way to avoid the removal of the ligatures when then files are saved?
