The reason I bought a Kobo was that the NOOK firmware was doing this sort of thing. Now it looks like Kobo has sunk to Barnes & Noble levels of competence.

I've never had a Barnes & Noble device, but Kobo's quality assurance just does no exist.
I've lost notes using my Elipsa and I just can't trust it anymore. Not to mention the dozens of time I had the database corrupted because I was reading comics =\
