Hello! I wasn't sure if this should go in the Apple forum or the Kindle forum. Since the Kindle app was developed by Amazon, I thought I'd start here. I'm a former Kindle user who switched to iBooks several years ago. I checked out the new (to me, at least) Kindle app on iPad and really liked it. However, when I emailed myself some books to add to my library, I found they were missing page numbers. I
vastly prefer page numbers to the 'Location' system.
I have tried to open books in Kindle directly from my iPad's files app and that didn't work either. The books I do upload have page numbers on my wife's kindle, but not on my iPad. My understanding is that page numbers are actually on a separate file other than the mobi file, and so they do not 'come with' the mobi when I open it on my iPad's Kindle App.
Some solutions I found on this forum are to use the Page Count plugin for Calibre and to use KFX and AZW files. I tried this, and neither of those file types appear to be supported by my Kindle App.
Several people seem to have got it to work, and I'm sure it's something on my end that is going wrong. Any help would be appreciated!
