And we are a bunch of people who know their way around a reader and are able to roll back to an earlier version. But their average costumer knows next to nothing about ereaders and will have a seriously bad experience with their reader.
It truly is mind boggleing.

And the "average" customer has probably not noticed the problem at all. It's being ranted about here by very non-average users who are frequently plugging the device in to the PC. The average user probably doesn't realise they can plug it into a computer at all. And it is unlikely that Kobo have noticed any change in sales.
