I’m not going to list all my eink readers; suffice to say I bought a bunch from 2010 to 2016. In thinking about them and that I’ve managed to resist since, the point for me is that I was willing to upgrade for significant improvements* in terms of front light, screen size (both smaller and larger) and resolution, but that I hit a wall with the Aura One. The minimal changes since don’t justify the outlay, for me. So essentially in the 12 years I’ve been reading with eink, the first six years saw huge improvements in product but in the six year since then, not really. Again, for me. So as I’ve said elsewhere, until my Aura One goes paws up or I see a deal I can’t resist (and deals seem a lot thinner on the ground than in the past) I don’t see a change in my status.

*Warm light and waterproofing weren’t important to me; nice but not compelling.
