that never happened to me, although i have missed my station before (but i usually realise pretty quickly and jump off the train and run to the other side...). and sometimes i notice that i'm at my station, but i can't stop reading yet, so i just get out of the train and sit on a seat on the plateform until i get to a better place to stop.
during the first Nuit Blanche (all night cultural installations / visits / performances once a year), a friend of mine fell asleep in the train on his way home, and woke up in a deserted train in the garage !!!
he had to walk back to the station plateform to get out.
in his defense, he was not actually reading at the time.
