When a post has been deleted, presumably it was for an obvious violation or because it came after a mod had posted ground rules or to terminate a particular discussion or perhaps because it was a response to a deleted post. If it’s not obvious, the poster can PM the likeliest mod to ask.

As for moving threads, there’s a notification with a redirect in the original forum but they’re not permanent. If you’re looking for a post and can’t find it, you can check your own posts to see if it’s still there and/or if it’s been moved. Usually when a thread has been moved, it’s because it’s a better fit elsewhere; this can be a problem in the General Discussions forum, where “general” shouldn’t be understood to mean “anything.”
