FWIW - I agree with @Deskisamess, there are dozens of e-reader apps for iOS and Android for EPUB and PDF formats. Some PDFs aren't worth the effort to convert. And converting the PDFs that are worth the effort to EPUB will allow you to do any 'tidy-up editing' them using the calibre or Sigil EPUB editors.

EPUB books can converted to a Kindle proprietary format easy enough.
