Handwriting is really only useful in the Advanced Notebook, or on Scanned PDFs.
It's an inferior non-portable way to annotate epubs / kepubs unless they add conversion to text.

I've an Elipsa. Really it's an ereader plus and ewriter with ability to scribble on scanned PDFs. The stylus/pencil is essentially pointless at the moment for real annotation on epubs, kepubs, DRM PDFs, OCR or Text based PDFs compared to highlight and type in a note.

A BT keyboard does work in the note window when annotating, but oddly the Advanced Notebooks ONLY allow pen/stylus input with optional conversion. I can't see the point of the basic scribble only Notebooks.
