I happily dismiss all books with covers depicting naked torsos and/or spaceships; I don't want to read "steamy" romance or science fiction. Guns aren't genre-specific, so I don't dismiss books with guns on the cover unless the gun belongs to a cowboy, clothed or unclothed.

Silly? Perhaps. But the visual is a way to quickly cull the herd so I can get to the kind of book I like.
