Interesting and original. The main characters were likable and nicely developed. The idea of pulling a real authentic ray gun and sword from a book is supreme coolness. The mystery angle was good, comedic touches nicely done but the romance bit made me recoil. Basically, this author used other author's dei ex machina to solve his insurmountable problems. I've had my eye on that one for a long time because I really enjoyed his goblin books. One of these days I'll have to try it.
