I recently bought a new Kindle Paperwhite 11th generation. I made the switch from Kobo because Kobo did not have the function to sync side-loaded books progress between devices.

With Kindle I can achieve that by sending books by email. My only problem with this is that covers only show up once I download the books, and then if I delete them from the device the cover defaults back to the one generated by the kindle. Which is not the case on the Kindle app for android, where all the covers are shown regardless of them being downloaded or not.
