I'm not sure that the 840 was ever one of the "Touch" models (which all seem to have 6" screens). The first two Inkpad models were referred to as 840. I believe that they use the same firmware, so it wouldn't matter much which version you bought. The screen size is 1200x1600 pixels. I don't know the answer to question 2) because I have never tried to install koreader on my Inkpad 1. If koreader supports PocketBook firmware version 5 devices, then it should work on the Inkpad. Maybe someone else can answer that.
