I saw a
report on Reddit of a user interface change that appeared some time after installing the new firmware. This is probably one of those features that is enabled remotely by Amazon.
A screenshot shows a scrollable list of recent books on the Home screen instead of just three. I wonder if the cover thumbnails in library list view are also present.
