That's because Calibre is primarily a library manager with additional functions like converting and editing. Sigil is an editor. They're totally different beasts. If you only want to edit, not manage your library, there's no point in using Calibre at all, or you can use only its editor separately, without the main program.

I find the Calibre editor to be perfectly adequate for all my editing needs, but then I use most of the other Calibre functions as well. There's no better library manager out there.
