Not hard at all. I upgraded to 128GB since that was the largest card I could find locally at the time. I've been tempted to upgrade to larger than 256GB, but I'm also lazy and just haven't gotten around to it. Just make sure you have an adequate tool to pry the back cover off with. You could hit up an online store like iFixit to get a tool kit specific for servicing mobile devices, but I used a plastic guitar pick instead; my local musical instrument store was selling used ones for 10 cents. Works great.
