When does the look start? The above seems to be describing a normal startup and then having problems using the device. I assume something is triggering a restart, but, it doesn't appear to be happening in a way that I would call a loop. Most descriptions of a reboot loop has the reboot happening without anything else happening. Here you say the touch screen works, and that you have changed the light level. So, unless it is rebooting after being left alone for a bit, it is probably when you do something.

I suspect that what is happening is that the device is hanging when you do something, possibly when opening a book. After about a minute, the light goes off and the device restarts. If that is happening, it is a reboot triggered by the process watcher called sickel.

If it is a sickel triggered reboot, then what did you do when it was triggered? Opening some books can do it. Usually it means a error in the book that hangs the reader coded. But, it can also be triggered with very large kepubs. If it is a book, removing the book should solve the issue. Then you can work out how to fix the book. If it is something else, you might need to sign-out of the account on the device to rebuild the database and other options. Or, do a factory reset to completely reset everything

It was been around 12 hours since this started battery went from 100% to 17% in the morning and has been dead since

I want to ask if i should go to kobo support , and would I be able to get it fixed / is it still in guarantee ?
You would need to check the warranty for wherever you are. But, the Elipsa was released less than 12 months ago, and Kobo seems to offer 12 month warranties, so if the device is faulty, it should still be covered.
