Hi there - if you see my post above, that is very similar to what I described as happening on my Basic. However, there is no option to turn it off anywhere. It is like a very lo-fi rendering of the page animation, which the Basic is obviously not equipped for.
Maybe once more people notice this is happening, Amazon will produce a fix. But, until then, Basic reading experience = nausea for me.
