If you run in debug mode for a bit and then exit the log file ought to pop up in a text editor, though I've had a few instances where it didn't and I've had to dig it out.

By default, Calibre usually dumps them in the system's temp directory. They can be a hassle to find, so if you're not afraid of editing environment variables you can set a CALIBRE_CACHE_DIRECTORY.
