We've got deer (seriously, NJ deer stand on the sidewalk and make YOU walk around THEM), turkeys (who WILL attack you, even if you're in your car), black bear (who raid swimming pools in the summer), etc., etc.

In our case, it's the deer mice that eat the car wiring.

But squirrels are the worst. I had a family of gray squirrels in the attic one time. They are noisy, destructive, and too big for rat traps. I got a few Havahart live traps that worked well.

We get flying squirrels in the attic pretty often. There are as many flying squirrels in NJ as gray squirrels, but few people ever see them because they only come out at night. Fortunately (for me, not them), rat traps do work on them. The real problem is that they're just so darn cute. I hate having to do it, but they do make a mess of the insulation.
