EDIT: Anne of Green Gables won because Lonesome Dove has a 2 week hold at the library. Looking forward to reading this! This is probably my 6th public domain ebook from https://standardebooks.org/ and I am in complete awe at how nice their formatting is.
Lonesome Dove is a wonderful epic of the American West. Doesn't really fit in with your reading short books, but I hope you enjoy it when you do get to it.
