Fortunately, this is pretty easy on Linux Mint (Cinnamon DE, see Quoth’s post below for Mate):
Open Nemo, select
Edit → Preferences. In the window
File Management Preferences, go to
Behaviour and scroll down to
Media Handling. Then
untick the checkbox marked
Automatically mount removable media when inserted and on start-up.
Violà—no more automounting on USB inserts!
If you’re connecting MTP devices and don’t want to lose the automounting, there is another possible way to handle this:
- Be sure that Calibre isn’t running.
- Let your device automount, but immediately unmount it again (Nemo left pane, under devices, click the "eject" button)
- Start Calibre. It should now be able to connect to your device.
- When finished, unmount/eject your device using Calibre’s Device option.
And welcome to the forums!
