Cleaning up errors across multiple epubs

Hi,

Recently I've tried running the Calibre editor on a few random books in my library, and have been surprised by the number of issues/errors it finds after running the check. And pleasantly surprised by how many can be fixed automatically.

Does anyone know whether it's possible to run the editor, then run the checker, then run the 'Try to correct all fixable errors automatically', then save the result, on a number of books, or even all the books in the library?
Trying to do it manually on each individual book seems rather tedious.

Also any advice in general when adding new epubs, to clean them up. What do you recommend? Is it enough to just fix the metadata then run 'polish'? Or do you run an epub to epub conversion as a general rule? Or both? Or is there a plugin that does a better job?
