This pretty much exemplifies why not calibre for me personally - I didn't even know you could get grid view!

I just checked and I still can't find that option. Your calibre menu looks different from my 'straight out of the box' menu and I can't even work out how to change that lol - I'm really not technically clueless but as I said before, I really feel like I need degree level computer knowledge to do anything besides the most basic conversions in calibre. It's a great program and I'm really glad it exists but I just don't find it easy to use and as long as I can convert ebooks, I'm really not that bothered about learning anything more - yes it took me a good few hours to set up an online based catalogue but I can guarantee it would have taken me that long at least to get to grips with all the ins and outs of calibre! And that's not including any time would have needed to edit the meta data to my liking lol!

Also, I do back up my ebooks to an external hard drive but I also find it is much easier when emailing ebooks to myself to download to other devices that having a folder with just the ebook files and just selecting the ones I want is a lot less time consuming that going in and out of individual author folders in my Caibre folder to find the ones I want to email.

It's just my own personal preference, I'll take something that I like the look of and is easy to use as it comes over having to spend a lot of time tinkering with something to get it to look and work how I like, no matter how customisable it has the potential to end up being, any day of the week.
