Mini Review
Dear Reader, I bought it!
The PDF reader for scanned documents is as poor as on the Libra or Original H2O:
1) There is no crop, you can zoom, but have to unzoom to go to the next page. Likebook Mars has two margin crop modes. Both work well.
2) There is no brightness / contrast / dark /light clipping. Some scanned PDFs the text is pale and some the background is too grey. The Mars lets you adjust to get white background, black text etc.
My BT keyboard DOES connect, and you can type in text on the epub annotation box. The arrow keys work in the Notepad application, but no text.
HOWEVER, the handwriting recognition is the most amazing I've seen in 30 years. I can write normally with the stylus, as quick as a ball point pen and so far it's 100%. Makes me wonder why OCR hasn't progressed as much.
I've not yet used the "export" and tried to copy it to the laptop. I presume it creates a docx file.
I copied about 160 books using Calibre, many large PDFs and speed was good. The Android MTP based phones / tablets / Mars eink are abominably slow. MTP is a disaster.
As an epub reader it's fine and like a Trade Size or Hard Back book with suitable margins, header, footer and font size.
Daft they didn't add page buttons.
