I have heard of people damaging the USB port, but, not many. And it hasn't been an endemic problem. And most to years to happen. In any case, none of mine have been damaged.

I do have an issue with the Glo HD. It doesn't like my main laptop. It will connect, but, as soon as there is any load through it, it disconnects. But, it works perfectly with another laptop I have and my work desktop. I have no idea why it is like this, because it worked perfectly for a couple of years with this laptop.
