Exactly. For me, there's an additional problem even if it does make it to market. TCL only announced that it's headed to market in Europe and China, they said nothing about the US. According to another article I read, TCL is trying to focus on the educational market with this device instead of the general public.
I don't know what to make of their NXTPAPER technology. Liliputing's article from back in September 2020 says that because the display doesn't use backlighting the colors look muted, much like color e-ink screens. IMO that's a big negative for something that costs $249 and isn't an e-reader.
