That was replaced by the option I mentioned above about sharing data. And, from something Kobo has told me, the reading stats collection is embedded very deeply in the code. Turning it off is not practical. That option didn't actually turn off the stats collection, it just hid the screens that would let you see them. Also, part of the stats collection is the reading status of the books. And that is needed for normal operation and when syncing status to other devices or apps. The Reading Life email is separate, and probably should have an option somewhere to turn it off. As with all of these things, I would recommend talking to Kobo and telling them what you want.
