It looks like my options include:

1. Max Lumi 1, before it sells out; Boox's stateside shop is selling it.

2. Mira, but Boox's stateside shop isn't selling it, only Goodereader seems to.

3. Dasung, despite the greater prices.

4. Wait for something cheaper.

P.S. missed 5. Waveshare + kitbash, but I don't know what that'd take.
