You cannot turn the statistics off completely. They get cleared when the privacy setting are changed. But, they are collected and displayed. It's possible turning the privacy settings off will turn of the Reading Life email, but, I don't know. Personally, I would just ignore it or use a filter to remove it. And there is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

Beyond that, I've never gone looking at turning it off as I like them. But, you could ask Kobo how to get rid of them if none of the above work.
