John Leslie Palmer (1885-1944) and Hilary St George Saunders (1898-1951).
In the days between the creation of the Weimar Republic after WW1, and the advent of Hitler, there were numerous militarist far-right attempts to overthrow the German Government. This tale, set in France, Switzerland and Germany, follows the convoluted trail of another militarist plot.
In the style of the time it involves a British ex-soldier who happens, by amazing coincidence, to be the exact double of one of the minor but important minions of the plot, who is mistaken for the real thing; and action follows aplenty.
