A good start to your finding the answer to the highlighted question would have been if you had actually READ my earlier post, in which I explictly said

Again, the issue of whether kpeubs format better than epub is one that is open to debate. Personally I do prefer kepub to epub in Kobo's stock reader but there are many who actually prefer epub because epubs on Kobo are rendered with support for ligatures. If ligatures matter to you, then epub may be a better bet.
