A while back I had a problem with a downloaded book being a corrupted file. I called Amazon and the rep did a return for me (I would have waited for a fix but apparently the system doesn't handle that). The book showed as unavailable for a while but when it was available for purchase again I tried to rebuy. I just got an error message saying that I already had the book. I don't remember what I did then; I probably just bought it from Kobo.

My husband just reads books. His eyes glaze over when I talk about Calibre. He has favorite authors from back in our old lives of visiting book stores and buying printed books. Nowadays I keep an eye out for those authors and any other books I think he might like and send him the Amazon links to look at. Then if he wants them I buy the books. We use family library and he downloads the books to the Kindle app on his phone to read and I download them to my Calibre library and deDRM them and back them up just in case.

If it was a book for me I'd just return it and then buy it from Kobo (with a price match if needed) but as it is I think I'll just let it slide. My husband is already reading it and I'm too lazy to work through the substitution process.

Edited to add: I've never used a multi-quote before so at least I learned something.
