The log posted appears to show a successful download.

Depending on your OS, Calibre's 'Proceed with updating' dialog can become obscured. At least, I've had trouble finding it in mac and linux vs my usual windows.

You might also try running Calibre in debug more to get more debug output.

As it is, I have no idea.

Working fine for me. As I recall, storiesonline/finestories keeps track of how many stories you've read/downloaded recently. Perhaps you ran into a limit?
