So I went from Glo > Glo HD > Voyage and now I'm back to Kobo with the Libra 2
Nice little device, finally good to have an affordable ereader with buttons unlike Amazon's insane $350 CAD for an Oasis.
Lighting is very even, which Im so impressed with coming off the old Glo days.
The only thing I really like on Amazon right now is:
-Far bigger community (not a big loss, but knowing I can see far more reviews in the store completes that community aspect of reading)
-I like the home screen on Amazon better: the corner for the 3 recent books with the most recent book larger... then the reading list (this would have been awesome for saved pocket articles).
Kobo's homescreen is boring: 4 most recent read titles, and then a redundant tile for your library (we literally have this shortcut already on the menu bar), and then another tile that they curate, and then two ads for the Shop and another for whatever else (the pocket shortcut sometimes appears here).
I wish they kept and cleaned up the old "live tile" homescreen by making it completely customizable: resizable tiles, pinning tiles, etc.
I'd really like to completely remove the bottom two book collections, and replace them with text-based article titles. Would be really nice if these readers could somehow plug into news sites and curate a list of recent news articles. Not sure why subscribing to news articles isn't a thing on ereaders from what I can see.
-I like the new "scroll" on Kindle that makes the page turn seem like actually turning a page. Pretty neat
-I also really like X-Ray and Word Wise and wish we had equivalents to that.
I am hoping we can get more discussions going on cover cases. I would prefer not to buy the expensive official covers, so hopefully 3rd party covers are just as good.
