First of all, battery last less than a day and now recently it is getting out of control as well. It starts to turn pages "automatically" in high speed without me touchning screen or side bar. Only way to stop the flipping of pages is to switch off power and re-start again.

I'd start with assuming a software problem and move on to a hardware issue.
The first step would be a manual factory reset (hold a page button and then press and hold the power button until the screen flashes and the reset process starts (~25-35 seconds). Then go through the setup and firmware upgrade process and try reading for a while. If the issue still persists, contact Kobo customer service. This way you have done the first steps they are likely to want to try and can move on to the return step.
My Sage has not done that fast page turn but then I seldom read kepubs.
