Yes. I do it all the time. Life is too short to read books you don't like. Why put yourself through that torture? If a book doesn't grab me after the first 5 chapters or so I'll move on to the next book unless it's an established series I've been reading. Then I'll stick it out for a while longer before I'll bail on the book.
