But yeah, flush vs recessed is not always the reason. The flush Voyage had a very sharp text, while the recessed Kobo Libra 1 had a lesser than average contrast. There obviously are other factors.
Apparently the new Paperwhite screen isn't as good as the Libra 2's, either.

There's a guy who does reviews on e-ink tablets called MyDeepGuide on youtube and he was extremely impressed with the Kobo Elipsa's screen. I'm not sure if it's the first time he had got his hands on the new generation of e-ink panel or what, but seeing his reaction was surprising.
