I prefer the more matte appearance of recessed screens, but dislike their tendency to gather dust along the edges of the bezel.
I hope the next generation of Kobos are much thinner and lighter.

I think flush vs recessed is the main factor in the Sage/Libra difference (which is quite small, but still noticeable), or perhaps an additional layer for stylus use in the Sage.
But yeah, flush vs recessed is not always the reason. The flush Voyage had a very sharp text, while the recessed Kobo Libra 1 had a lesser than average contrast. There obviously are other factors.
