The thing that took some work was making sure I had the correct versions of Kindle, ADE, etc. to work with my "tools". My migration caused me to upgrade Calibre to 5.x so a bunch of my other plugins had to be reinstalled and configured. Overall it wasn't bad, although I am in no hurry to upgrade to Windows 11 since every currently works the way I want.

Yeah, it's the plugins and tools etc I am worried about. Plus I am still using old ADE with no issues. So need to research how all of it works (if it does) with Windows 11. Been reading a bit about the changes there, but I am hoping to keep the setup I have. Not sure what's been going on with Calibre as I haven't kept up with the news since I haven't been upgrading every other update as I did for many years.
I have no plans to stop using the windows 7 PC as it is still a nice computer and I can't afford to replace the photo editing software, Word, etc. But it was stating to have issues accessing some websites, hence the new laptop. It's basically just for going online.
But I also figure better to start researching soonish as I want to ensure everything works before I am forced to if the harddrive fails or something. Better safe than sorry.
But I am going to wait until after the new year.
