Add additional information to the comment, then use the
METAmover plugin to do just that. If inserting data into your own columns worked in metadata plugins - I would have done it a long time ago. There are a lot of posts on the forum that it is simply impossible in one step.
If you want to create your own plugin based on METAmover – I don't see a problem because it can certainly be done better
