In my limited testing a while back, the K4PC and K4Mac apps do not sync data for any sideloaded books. If you are sideloading books via USB to get the benefits of azw3 or KFX, they do not seem to sync anything on any Kindle device or app.

Since you receive a .mobi file when using send to email for formats other than .pdf, I found the quality unacceptable.
